Another feature of the Brainiac update was pipeworks. Here's a quick, basic guide on using them.

Elements you'll need

The E.Pump will suck up liquids when an electro activates it.

The pipe will carry liquids.

The drain will eject liquids.

The valve controls the flow of the liquid in the pipes.

Creating basic pipework

Here I have created the layout of my pipework. The objective is to get the liquids on the left-hand side into the right-hand side.

On the left-hand side I have now placed an E.Pump, connected to a Switch Module and wired in with metal.

On the right-hand side I have placed a Drain. The Drain does not need electros to operate.

I have also added a valve, which is connected to a Pulsar Module, wired in with metal.

Now I have turned on the E.Pump, but the lava is not flowing through the pipes! Thsi is because the valve is closed.

If we open the valve, the lava begins to flow though the pipes and drains out the other end.

You can control the direction that liquids travel through pipes by using multiple valves. Take a look at the altered pipework here, we now have two valves, one at the top and one at the bottom:

We will open the bottom valve but leave the top one closed. As a result the liquid takes the bottom path.
